About
Jonathan Wittmaier is a Korean American writer, educator and artist. A transracial adoptee—he was born in Seoul, South Korea and was raised in southern New Jersey. His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Water~Stone Review, Philadelphia Stories Magazine, Rewriting Adoption, Eunoia Review, BRAWL Lit, the museum of americana: A LITERARY REVIEW, The Rising Phoenix Review, VISIBLE Magazine, WordCity Literary Journal, and Weave (a zine created by PNW Kundiman).
He is a Pushcart Prize nominee and the recipient of the Adelphi University Creative Writing Award for Dramatic Writing. He has taught English and creative writing at Suffolk County Community College and Adelphi University, where he also served as the manager of the university libraries.
He recently moved to the Pacific Northwest from New York City to help open a dessert shop with his wife. He currently hosts Unsung Poetry, a reading series at Seattle University, where he also serves as Manager of the Student Resource Network.
